Some friends and family have gotten the full impact of it in the last
few hours, and I must say they are VERY patient.  By now, however,

I stopped at Office Depot today and bought a CanoScan LiDE 90
scanner.  For months now I\'ve been wanting a simple scanner for my
4 M& W5 d4 }4 m: Zslides and photos. Every other place I went to, like Wal*Mart and
Target, only sold the printer/copier/fax/scanner units.  I already own
) t! c& S* ~; M  e1 R$ T& ^, N7 wall of that except for the scanner and wasn\'t about to spend hundreds
5 O$ Y: y! T2 J( kof dollars for more than I need.

+ p0 P0 b- O. ^( rThis scanner costing under $80 does a great job on my photos, even the
ones of me as a baby.  My slides of astronomical art by Morris Scott
2 D" n( P& ?4 Y1 V& kDollens come out okay even after collecting dust for decades.  I
! X; Z) E5 b; B0 Sshould be kept busy for days scanning all the photos I\'ve saved over
the years in an old suitcase.  Now if I could only figure out who all
3 ?& `9 q1 o( j, h. o8 r* g! Qthose people in really old photos are!
